Minibus Driver (D1) – 18-Month Fixed-Term Contract

Hours: 28 per week – Monday to Friday (6:30am – 9:00am and 3:00pm – 5:30pm)

Pay: £13.00/hour (approx. £18,928 p.a. pro rata) + Pension

Location: Basildon, SS14 1PA

About the Role

Our client is looking for a kind, professional and reliable Minibus Driver (D1) to join their team. You’ll transport vulnerable adults safely to and from their homes, and for a few hours each week you’ll also take members to external activities (sport, social and wellbeing sessions). This is a hands-on role – much more than driving alone.

What You’ll Do:

Morning and afternoon pick-ups / drop-offs of members.Transport small groups to external activities.Assist members on and off the bus; safely handle wheelchairs and walkers.Carry out daily vehicle checks; keep the vehicle clean and presentable.Complete simple journey logs and follow safeguarding procedures.

About You:

Full UK D1 driving licence.Consistently kind, conscientious and team minded.Confident supporting vulnerable adults; Excellent communicator.Physically capable of assisting passengers and handling mobility aids.Will pass an Enhanced DBS check for working with vulnerable adults.Able to provide two professional referees.

Contract & Benefits:

18-month fixed-term; 28 hours per week.£13.00/hour (approx. £18,928 p.a. pro rata).Workplace pension (auto-enrolment).Holiday: Statutory entitlement pro rata.Training and support provided.
