Description

Senior Environmental Advisor

Location: London & Greater London

Candidate Base: Surrey

Working Pattern: Site-based, typically 4 days per week on project sites + 1 day working from home

Hours: 42.5 hours per week

Contract: Initial 6 months, with potential for longer-term work across AMP8

Rate: GBP400- GBP450 per day, with some flexibility depending on experience

IR35: Potentially outside IR35, subject to individual project assessment

We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Environmental Advisor to support a number

This is a hands-on role for someone who is comfortable working closely with project teams and taking ownership of environmental requirements across live construction projects. The successful candidate will ideally be based in or around Surrey, with the flexibility to travel to project sites across London and Greater London at least four days a week.

The initial contract is for six months, with a strong possibility of further work.

The Role

Working as part of the project team, you will provide environmental support and advice throughout the project lifecycle, including pre-construction, ECI and construction phases.

Key responsibilities will include:

Providing environmental advice across pre-construction, ECI and construction activities.Taking ownership of environmental requirements across allocated projects.Working closely with project managers, site teams, subcontractors and other stakeholders to ensure environmental requirements are understood and delivered.Developing, reviewing and maintaining Environmental Management Plans (EMPs).Developing and reviewing Site Waste Management Plans and associated environmental documentation.Monitoring environmental performance on site and identifying areas for improvement.Supporting the project team with environmental compliance and regulatory requirements.Providing practical environmental advice to ensure projects are delivered in line with relevant legislation, permits and client requirements. We are looking for someone who has already operated at Senior Environmental Advisor level, or in an equivalent position within a major civil engineering, utilities, water or infrastructure environment.

You will need to be comfortable joining an established programme and working with a high degree of autonomy. This is not a role for someone looking to be closely managed we need an experienced environmental professional who can take ownership and provide practical advice to the wider project team.

You should have:

Significant environmental experience within construction, civil engineering, utilities or infrastructure.Experience taking responsibility for environmental matters across live projects.Strong knowledge of UK environmental legislation and regulatory requirements.Strong experience developing and implementing Environmental Management Plans.The confidence to work directly with site and project teams.Good communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships across a project.A practical, solutions-focused approach to environmental management. Degree or equivalent industry experience in Environmental Management, Environmental Science, Ecology, Geography or a related discipline.Appropriate CSCS Card.Full UK Driving Licence.Ability and willingness to travel regularly to project sites across London and Greater London. Why Apply?
