A lovely family based in Hartfield, East Sussex, are seeking an experienced part time housekeeper / cook to support the upkeep of their four-bedroom home and prepare meals for the family. Three bedrooms are in regular use. This is a varied role suited to a reliable, organised and proactive candidate who takes pride in maintaining a clean and well-presented home.

The family have three children and a friendly Labrador, so the successful candidate should be comfortable working in a busy family and pet-friendly household. The ideal candidate will have previous private household experience, strong housekeeping skills and enjoy preparing fresh, home-cooked meals. Excellent references are essential.

Duties include:

maintaining high standards of housekeeping throughout the home
cleaning the three regularly used bedrooms
cleaning the additional bedroom when required
cleaning bathrooms, kitchen and living areas
vacuuming, mopping, dusting and polishing household surfaces
laundry and ironing
making beds and changing bed linen
wardrobe and clothing care
keeping children’s areas tidy and organised
maintaining a clean and organised kitchen
preparing fresh, healthy home-cooked meals
preparing meals and snacks for the children when required
planning simple menus according to the family’s preferences
shopping for groceries and fresh ingredients when required
monitoring household supplies and replenishing essentials
cleaning kitchen appliances and maintaining the kitchen to a high standard
running occasional household errands
being comfortable working around the family’s Labrador
keeping the home tidy, organised and well presented
ensuring the household runs smoothly and efficiently at all times
