Reed is exclusively partnering with the local council to offer an exciting temporary opportunity within their Planning (Development Management) team. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Major Development Officer to join us for a 12–week period, providing essential cover and contributing to high–profile projects.

Role Overview:

The Principal Major Development Officer will play a crucial role in coordinating between Planning Policy and Development Management functions. This position involves project management and case assessment of strategically significant and complex planning applications, appeals, and other projects as directed by the Development Management Team Leader and Service Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

Contribute to the efficient and effective coordination within Planning Services.Manage and assess high–profile, strategically significant, and complex planning applications and appeals.Ensure seamless integration and cooperation between Planning Policy and Development Management functions.Handle other projects as identified by the Development Management leadership.Requirements:

Completed a first degree and postgraduate qualification in Town Planning or a related subject.Extensive experience in professional town planning work within the development management field.Thorough understanding of the main principles of Town Planning, including key areas of planning policy and law.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to deal tactfully with a range of circumstances.Proven ability to manage a demanding workload in a high–pressure environment.Special Conditions:

Must be a driver with access to a car insured for business use.
