Description

Due to growth within the team, we are looking for a mechanical maintenance engineer to join our customers facilities team, supporting a large commercial property near Paddington. The successful candidate will carry out a mix of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance tasks, ensuring all mechanical systems remain safe, compliant, and fully operational.

A key part of the role will involve working with cooling towers, so prior hands–on experience is essential.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver planned preventative maintenance across a range of mechanical plant and equipment.

Respond to reactive maintenance issues quickly and effectively, minimising downtime.

Carry out inspections, testing, and fault diagnosis on mechanical systems, including cooling towers, HVAC, pumps, plumbing, pipe work and associated plant.

Ensure compliance with relevant health & safety, water hygiene, and statutory regulations.

Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and report findings to management.

Support wider FM team with general building services tasks as required.

About You

Proven experience in mechanical maintenance within commercial property or facilities management.

Strong track record in both planned and reactive maintenance.

Hands–on experience with cooling tower operation, maintenance, and compliance.

Relevant qualifications in mechanical engineering / HVAC / Plumbing (apprenticeship, NVQ, or equivalent).

Knowledge of water hygiene (L8) and H&S regulations.

Strong problem–solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Good communication skills and a customer–focused approach.
