About the Role

The Director of Technology is responsible for shaping and leading their technology strategy to support the University’s long-term ambitions. You will oversee the operation and continuous development of their technology services, driving digital transformation and ensuring their systems, data, and infrastructure are robust, secure, and future-focused.

As a member of the University’s leadership, you will play a key role in aligning technology with their strategic objectives, ensuring they deliver innovative solutions that enhance both the student and staff experience.

What You’ll Do:

Develop and deliver a forward-thinking technology strategy that supports the University’s mission and growth.Lead and mentor a high-performing technology team, fostering innovation, collaboration, and professional development.Drive digital transformation projects, leveraging new and emerging technologies to improve efficiency and user experience.Work in close partnership with departments across the University to understand their needs and deliver effective technology solutions.Oversee the successful delivery of technology projects, ensuring they are on time, within scope, and within budget.Establish and monitor KPIs to measure the effectiveness of technology services and initiatives.Lead on cyber security, compliance, and data protection, implementing robust governance frameworks and policies.Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and service levels to ensure best value and performance.Keep abreast of industry trends and innovations, recommending solutions to strengthen our client’s technology capabilities.Manage day-to-day technology operations, including escalations, outage management, and enterprise communication.

What You’ll Bring:

Degree-level education and significant experience in senior technology leadership roles.Proven track record of developing and implementing technology strategies that deliver digital transformation and align with organisational goals.Strong expertise in cyber security, data governance, and compliance.Demonstrable experience of leading large-scale technology projects using both agile and waterfall methodologies.Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire, develop, and manage a diverse team.Strong business acumen and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage and influence at all levels.Hands-on experience in technology deployment, integration, and ongoing management.Vendor management and contract negotiation expertise.Proficiency with both Microsoft and MacSuite applications and infrastructure.
