Rare French 1960s coffee table equestrian galloping horses stallions under glass
Poole, Dorset
£500
Description
House clearance/Estate sale
French 1960s/70s coffee table equestrian galloping horses stallions under glass.
A very rare 1960s/70s Statement Piece Coffee Table measuring approx 42"(107cm)L x 18"(46cm)W x 14"(36cm)H
Manufactured in the 1960s/70s (and believed to be by DH Morton for Marcus Designs) this is an impressive and eye catching table. A real statement piece
It is made of solid wood mounted with heavy duty solid brass and topped with a thick pane of lightly smoked glass. Displayed beneath the glass is a 3 dimensional silver relief study of charging horses in a classical style (think Elgin Marbles) on a green baize
This is in lovely vintage used condition with no repairs that I can see with the naked eye. It does have the usual patina expected for it's age and the dings, green spots etc. As with all vintage items, you may see signs of use so please examine the photos very carefully and if you have any concerns just send a message
I have included photos, please look carefully at these as they form a large part of the description and condition, and if you have any questions please ask. Please note that it is difficult to capture the exact colour of the item depending on the angle and the glaze. I apologise for any reflections, etc.
