Description
Victorian (early) or very late Georgian tri arched Balloon Back child’s or young person chair. Dimension are v.slim to small but sturdy & will take a grown man’s weight.(+/- 100kgs). Smaller than modern accepted dimensions indicates some considerable age.
Very small overall dimensions, with possibly the original patina of very,very aged port red cloth upholstery/webbing that is indicative of considerable age. Some damage and alterations possibly made in its long lifetime ( see photo’s). Some damage to back and looks repaired. Possibly Oak/Mahogany wood with a dark stain/varnish. Looks like local artisan made as one off. This is very old, no screws just glue & dowels and traditional carpentry fixes. May suit young apprentice upholsterer/carpenter to learn/practice to restore repair or maybe re-use parts for restoration of other similar very aged chair. Worn patina commensurate with its considerable age, hence realistic price/offer. Collection Only.
