For sale very rare set of 4 Vintage, Retro 60's Ercol Windsor 'Fleur de Lys' Chairs including 2 Carvers (model no: 371, 371A) in 'Old Colonial' Finish.

The iconic piece was manufactured in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire and is now back in fashion (keenly collected and highly regarded). Ercol furniture is synonymous with good design, quality materials and craftsmanship and is built for longevity. This is a real eye catching piece of vintage retro furniture which no longer in production.

Each chair has a solid English Elm seat with beech backs, spindles and legs. The seats are showing some lovely complex elm grain. Low arched back consists of 4 spindles and a pierced centre splat which features the 'Fleur de Lys' motif. The well constructed solid elm seats are inset beneath with angled tapering legs which provide perfect support, and matching H pattern stretchers help to bolster the chairs structural rigidity. Original Ercol label is still attached and it shows the chairs have been originally manufactured in 1983.

The chairs are in good vintage condition with some marks commensurate with age and use. Please see pictures of seats as there are some deep scratches. The chairs are sturdy with no loose joints or spindles and no separation to the elm seat. I decided against full restoration as the chairs are structurally sound and I was able to re oil worn areas like backrest, bottoms of the feet and armrests. The chairs have been cleaned and waxed.
