Description
An occasional Edwardian armchair. It’s elegant to look at, Very comfortable and keeps your back straight.
Fully restored: I stripped it back to the frame, used wood filler where necessary, sanded and re-frenchpolished the mahogany trim with about 6 coats. New webbing, new coiled springs to back and seat, lots of coir (used now instead of horsehair), all secured by upholstery string, then upholstery lining then bump (I think that’s what it’s called)then outer fabric, which is blue cotton velvet to the inside; outside is an Andrew Martin fabric, in a lighter blue herringbone. Double piping where necessary. New brass castors to rear and original brass castors to the front. The frame is faintly signed ? Robinson 1906. I have also signed it. A very thorough renovation which the chair deserves. Only selling because I have run out of room for it!
