A fantastic opportunity for a bright, dynamic person to be trained in many aspects of care, to eventually become a main carer with a pay rise to reflect the complex care (I'm a 66 year old male with Motor Neurone Disease). Based in Petersfield, Hampshire.

Summary of the role:

I am looking for a carer on a two weeks on, two weeks off rota basis based in Hampshire.
You will be provided with a house for the two weeks you work.
The pay is £16/hr as an assistant with a main carer supporting you as part of a great team
No previous care experience required
Must have a valid UK driving licence

More details:

We are looking for a carer to join our team of 5 who care for me, I have motor neurone disease. I am almost totally locked in and communicate via eye gaze on a computer. I live at home and we have a team of carers who care for me 24/7, mostly 14 days on/14 days off, but this can be changed by agreement with the other assistant.

I have an active mind and live life to the full. I am very positive person and am looking for a similarly positive person.

The ideal candidate will be excited to learn to care for someone with complex medical needs (including a tracheostomy). It is also essential that the candidate has a good command of the English language – spoken and written. It's important you can drive because I have an adapted van which you'll drive.

We are looking for someone who is intelligent, reliable, happy, flexible and willing to fit in as it's very important to us to have a good atmosphere in the house.

We offer a salary of £16 per hour x 12 hour shift = £192 a day, on a self employed basis. All living costs are paid for except food. The carers have a separate house to live in 5-minute walk from my house. While you are on duty, you have a very nice lounge overlooking a beautiful heath and lake. There are also cooking facilities where you can make your own food. The town is in a national park yet just one hour by train from London Waterloo and half hour to the coast.
