Description
A very hard decision, however we have decided to put up for sale our 1980’s Eriba Pan Familia “Chip”, we have owned him for nearly 2 years and was bought from a gentleman who was unable to get the best out of him due to deterioration in health.
He has been well looked after with a few modifications inside whilst still keeping the original features. We have made new curtains using retro patterning to keep in line with the age of this vehicle. The seating is original however we have stitched on new covers which can be easily removed if chosen to reveal the original material/pattern. We have added bamboo roller blinds for those sunny days keeping out the sun but also allowing coolness to enter. The original table has been revamped with adhesive vinyl which again can be removed back to the original table top. We chose to remove the gas fire which would have sat against the wardrobe door, however the fridge, cooker and sink are still in situ and all original. As we have never used the cooker or the sink we made a board and with the same colour vinyl made a top board so the area could be used as a top for storing food etc. preserving the original cooker etc underneath. The cooker and sink are still in situ as original with the top underneath our piece of wrapped board. The fridge works and as you can see has had a new flash of colour to tie in with the rest of the interior. We have replaced the flooring using vinyl to give a wood effect, the previous floor was similar but more of a chestnut colour. Two windows open - the main back which can be open extremely wide and then pulling back in at several notches to keep open to your liking, the same for one side window. The remaining two windows are fixed.
Once the bed is pulled out utilising the seating area the table drops down to the floor and this creates a huge sleeping area, we currently use a kingsize duvet but you could even go to superking! It is a huge comfortable bed once made!
The Electrics comprise of electrical hook up on outside of the van serving a mains breaker box (RCD) inside the wardrobe which works the fridge & a battery charger which charges the leisure battery, the leisure battery then supplies all new LED lighting & numerous usb charging points via a main fused switch panel. There is also a remote control cut-off & Bluetooth monitor fitted to the leisure battery. We kept the old radio and speakers with the intention of upgrading but hadn’t got round to this due to our son using his speaker for music.
Metal chassis frame is in great condition for its age with some surface rust but nothing serious.
The underside of the floor is also in good condition for its age with no previous patches or repairs & with no soft spots or signs of rot underneath.
Pop top roof canvas is in very good condition complete with the fly net / screen.
The caravan tows really well, has a new jockey wheel fitted & comes with an enclosed awning that fits to the side.
This is a reluctant sale however my son is getting older and is wanting to venture out camping with his friends more, so Chip is getting used less and less and it would be sad to see him just sitting on the drive and not being used for new adventures. We are not in a rush to sell and will only sell to someone who has knowledge of this type of caravan, age etc. The price is a starting point and we would be open to consider serious offers.
Ready to hook up and drive away, our last weekend with Chip only having been last weekend. So the photos used for this advert were taken very recently.
viewings by prior arrangement, we are located in Leicestershire.
