What Has Been Done

We have measures put in place to ensure ALL of our Engines are reconditioned to a expert standard, this is imperative to ensure a good working engine and to abide by the rules and regulations of FER (federation of engine rebuilds).

These MERCEDES engines are thoroughly cleaned, checked, measured, machined and then rebuilt with the following new parts.

• New Main and con-rod bearings

• 4 reconditioned or 'on spec' used Connecting rods

• 4 pistons / piston rings

• Recon Cylinder Head

• Rocker Arm Assembly

• Seals Throughout


Engine Background Information

Manufactured by MERCEDES engine is not only used widely in SPRINTER/C/E CLASS vehicles but a range of other commercial VEHICLES, . It is a predecessor to the Euro 6 engines which are still used in 2018.

Engine Failures And Issues

This is one of the most popular engine sold by ourselves and therefore we know the general causes of engine failure! And how to prevent it! The majority of the 2.1 MERCEDES exchange engines that pass through U C Parts either have crank issues which is always down to negligence (lack of servicing) or general wear on crankshaft bearings, OR piston failure which is mainly down to the fuel injectors, we would always seriously recommend testing and if necessary changing your fuel injectors at certain points throughout the vehicles life span.

Terms And Conditions

• Providing engines are readily available and in stock (please check prior to ordering) if payments are received before 2pm the engine will be shipped the same day. If payments are made after 2pm, engines will be shipped the next working day

• Our engines are sold on an exchange basis, unless agreed otherwise we do require a surcharge payment to be made prior to the engine being delivered. The surcharge is then refunded upon the return of the old engine

• Exchange / Surcharge engine units need to be supplied in the exact same manner the reconditioned engine has been supplied, a COMPLETE bare block without any ancillaries such as seized injectors, if not, this could affect the amount refunded of the surcharge.

• Exchange / Surcharge engine units need to be received by U C Parts in a recondition-able state meaning engines cannot have cracks or holes in the cylinder head or engine block, if this is the case the amount refunded from the surcharge could be affected.

• Unless supplied by NEW by U C Parts Ltd, ancillaries are not covered under the engine warranty

• We strongly advise that before fitting any reconditioned engine ALL the ancillary components must be checked and thoroughly cleaned. Check the turbo and get the fuel injectors tested by properly by a diesel specialist. If metal has previously passed through the engine We strongly recommend replacing the oil cooler. ALWAYS use the manufacturer's suggested oil grade and amount, replace the oil filter. Failure to do the above can cause engine failure which will not be covered under our engine warranty

• As a precaution U C Parts Ltd urge an oil and oil filter change within the first 500 miles of use. We would also propose keeping the RPM below 3000 to allow the engine parts to be ‘embedded’
