Description

VCDS fault diagnostics, battery and equipment coding, service reminder reset, warning lamp clearing.

For VW Audi VW Seat Skoda cars. I can come to your home or other location e.g car park. Please contact me as cost will vary depending on what you want to do and your location.

The £15 cost is for two full diagnostics scan of all control modules in your car and a basic interpretation of results, which I insist on doing initially and then after clearing fault codes as it is difficult or impossible to know without first clearing codes which error codes are still active. Other coding or diagnostic work is a modest extra, call out is also small extra. Contact me to discuss.

I use VCDS software and Hex v2 interface device to connect to your car. The cars I can work with must have the 16-pin OBD2 connector usually found under the dashboard on the drivers side (above where your right knee is likely to be on a RHD car).

I will provide you with the log file of faults and any re-coding you request. I can also investigate any diagnostic fault codes and error warnings your car is displaying (amber light warnings eg ABS brakes, airbags etc).

Below is a list of possible additional coding tasks in addition to the full diagnostics scan, but is not exhaustive - please contact me with what you want to do

Resetting service reminders.

Amber ABS warning light - this can be reset but will reappear if the underlying fault is not addressed. I can scan for underlying fault but cannot disable if there is a continuing live fault.

New battery coding (i need BEM code from your new battery)

Aircon/climate control fault diagnosis - e.g. defrost and temperature blending motors

Throttle body adaptation (essential after cleaning throttle body or egr)

Coding to activate new equipment you have installed - e.g. puddle lights, windscreen wash fluid level sensor, heated washer jets, navigation, mobile phone controllers, TPMS etc etc)

Coding to activate or deactivate convenience functions (eg dipping the nearside wing mirror when in reverse gear to aid parking) - do not be surprised if your car does not have this though.

Enabling auto window rollup

Investigate fuel trim for petrol engines

All tests require ignition on, some tests require engine on. Therefore car should be outside not in a garage. If you are concerned about battery drain then engine on is usually fine for most tasks.
