Up for sale is a 1984 Volkswagen T25 fitted with the 1.9DG early waterboxer. Showing just 36,000 miles (backed by MOT history). Having reached the 40-year milestone, it is officially registered as a Historic Vehicle, meaning £0 Road Tax and MOT exemption.

Recent Restoration Work:

I rescued this van last summer as a non-runner and have spent the winter bringing it back to life. It is exceptionally solid; unlike the usual "rot boxes," the underside is incredibly clean with only minor surface rust.

Bodywork: Both rear quarters replaced with fresh steel.
Interior: Fully stripped, cleaned, and refreshed.
Upgrades: New solar panel system, sky hatch with power fan/lighting, new curtains, blinds, and refreshed wheels.
Mechanicals: New fan motor and rear silencer installed.

Engine

The engine has a refurbished Weber carb and sounds good but. While it runs, it requires a bit of "finishing school." It needs a final tune and full recommissioning before driving on the road, or it would serve as the ultimate blank canvas for an engine conversion to something more powerful.

History:

Purchased from a deceased estate via auction, so history is limited, but the condition and MOT records provide evidence for the low mileage.

To summarise, an incredibly solid van with great potential. To be clear it cannot be driven on a road straight away and will require full and proper recommissioning but it's solid, original, unabused and complete.
