The 150W panel powers the 2 x 100 Ah Ecoworthy lithium leisure batteries under the seats, which run the van and come with a split charger that allows them to charge via the engine battery so that even on rainy days they never run out of power!

The MPPT charge controller ensures the batteries run at optimum capacity for the duration of their lifetime, so it'll be 10+ years before they need replacing or even looking at. Lithium means zero maintenance.

The second panel runs at 185W and is connected to a 2040 Wh Aferiy power bank which has been wired straight into the sockets. And if you don't think that's impressive, let me run the numbers for you.
Any motorhome can go off grid for a night, two at a push. But the price is no access to the basics like charging a phone. No hairdryer, no TV, no microwave. These all need the hookup at the campsite. And the campsite puts a limit on the power you draw, so off we go to the shop to spend a small fortune on appliances just for the van.
With a power bank, a powerful one like the Aferiy already installed, any appliance you have at home can be plugged straight into the van's sockets and used at any time. For example, our "vampire" kettle wouldn't be allowed at a campsite, but it proved no problem for the power bank.

With 4 berths (two above the cab and sofa can be turned as well) it can quite comfortably sleep a family of four or a group of friends eager for adventure. The kitchen is fully equipped with hob, grill, oven and fridge freezer. There's a gas heater. The bathroom comes with a shower. There's a new 7" reversing camera. And you won't find more storage even in a Tardis.

We've put a lot of time and money to get this set up, and we've taken this van into the wilderness of Scotland for weeks on end without ever running out of power, saving hundreds of pounds and making truly life-long memories.
We had planned a tour of the Lakes for the summer, but changes in family circumstances are forcing us to give up our plans. And this motorhome.
