Description
Here is my 2007 Renault Master ambulance/ campervan
I bought it a little over a year ago. Since then, I've spent pretty much every week building and upgrading things inside.
I was working away from home and decided to make it as a project to stay in during the week.
I've spent well over 7K on the rear of the vehicle. From kitchen units insulating, timber, lighting, and everything to make it comfortable as home from home, kind of room.
It has a 240v hook up built in the van. From being an ex ambulance.
I've had everything built or made to fit myself.
All the cables in the rear of the vehicle are all new.
However, the front cab is another story. There is a wiring situation in the front behind the seats I've never looked at. It was a maternity ambulance from Scotland. (So there's only been life being made, not taken away)
The hubs on the front top of the cab, I've been told, are WiFi hubs. I've never really looked into it, to be honest.
I've stayed in the vehicle for 6 months through sun and snow.
The insulation you can see on the windows acts like blackout blinds and great against the sun and the cold elements.
I had an oil filled radiator in with me. And even down to minus degrees, I had to open the skylights some evenings. It was too warm inside.
Regards to the engine, I've had it serviced about 100 miles ago. It's the 2.5 diesel great engine. The gearbox, on the other hand, takes some getting used to. Standard Renault problem.
Sliding her into second regardless if its hot or cold.
I've never had a problem with it. I'm just being honest (plus, im more caring to all my other vehicles now)
It's still classed as an ambulance.
I had a problem with starting when she was sitting for months.
Went down all routes.
New battery, starter motor,
Fuses, ECU with key reader. Waste of time.
It turned out to be a £15 relay 🫣
I've driven to and from work every week. It's a different kind of drive to my newer van. You have to remember it is an old bus. But always have a smile like im going on an adventure. Even if it is to work. It rides on air suspension on the rear. With a compressor underneath. I used to pump it up under the bonnet in the morning to speed the 15 minutes up. Once at operating pressure, it's a smooth drive.
Ive got it booked in on the the 1st of October for an MOT
I'm not in a rush to get rid of it. But just testing the water to see if anyone's interested in it.
Please feel free to ask me anything about it.
Thank you for looking 😀
