Description
Ford Transit conversion 100 T350 Camper Van.
Converted from a community ambulance.
Hi roof and excellent ground clearance.
Four alloy wheels and spare wheel, tyres have excellent tread remaining.
Towbar and electrics fitted.
Alpine Bluetooth radio with two additional speakers in the living area.
There are two ventilation fans on the roof which allow good air circulation in the cabin, they can be closed if required.
Has a driveaway porch awning which is new, this was only purchased for our most recent trip.
Last year there was a good amount of welding done to the sills et cetera costing over several hundred pounds.
And this year it sailed through the MOT.
Fixed double bed with new memory phone mattress, and overhead down lights.
Bathroom with fixed sink with cold tap.
Fitted opening skylight with shutters and insect mesh.
New cooker and sink unit with cold tap.
New fridge 12 V.
12 V TV with Aerial.
Ceiling spotlights.
All new fabrics for cushions and bedding.
Three good sized storage cupboards above, plus full width storage over driving cabin area. plus under seat bench, and double kitchen under units.
Garage area under double bed.
Swivel passenger seat.
Fixed bench seat for 2/3 people.
Tom Tom included.
Reversing camera set up that needs connecting at rear.
Good MOT remaining.
Can be used for EHU for the basics, but primarily built for off grid.
Has solar panel, brand-new 130 amp leisure battery, control panel for Solar.
Xplorer DC-DC battery charger 40 amp. This allows charging of the battery whilst the engine is running.
Gas box and bottle in garage.
New step.
2 x 12 litre water containers that supply the separate kitchen and bathroom taps.
All round blackout curtains and a blind for kitchen area, also slide across curtain to separate cab from living area.
Bodywork is as expected on a vehicle of this age, although it is reasonably tidy. There are a couple of areas with very light corrosion on the near side rear arch.
Obviously a few areas that would've been treated in the past, but overall nothing of concern. In fact the last MOT engineer mentioned how good it was for a van of its type and age.
Side windows are tinted.
There is a Fiamma F45S cassette awning fitted to the side.
A diesel heater fitted under van with ducting to cabin.
Engine was replaced around 65,000 miles ago, a great starter and runs beautifully.
We have travelled several times and found that with the solar and the battery charger combined we can off grid for six days and still have plenty remaining without the need to worry of additional charging.
Much of this was done in early year where Sunshine was not that it's Max, so we were very pleased with the performance in that regard.
The EHU only Supplies a couple of 13 amp sockets in the van, but we used this only once on our travels.
Not being great watches of TV, although we did have a couple of trips where it was used and that did not appear to affect the battery life very much at all, but may do if watching for long periods of time.
The issue. ...
We have recently had an issue where the speedometer needle remains on zero regardless of speed, and the ABS, engine management (yellow) and the handbrake light remain on.
We have made early enquiries and borrowed a tester which gave us a 'communication to the ABS' fault.
I have been told this could be something as simple as one of the wheel sensors, or obviously something a little more expensive.
The price we have listed this for is a great reduction to what we would normally wish to advertise.
We have allowed for the what we were told was the worst case scenario, and simply reduced a great deal more on top of that.
What is most important is that the engine performance has not altered in any way, she still starts quickly, idles beautifully and drives equal to that.
One other point to mention is that the central locking et cetera all works well, but for some reason you have to push on the right hand rear door in order for it to lock.
I have been told it is due to the plastic covering on the hook of the catch that needs replacing, this may require the hook being replaced. This is around £20 and is fixed by two bolts. I have attached an image of the part in question.
I will just end by saying that there is nothing hidden on this van that has not been mentioned, to our knowledge at least.
We've enjoyed a couple of years of this van and would wish that someone else would also have that same pleasure.
Circumstances over the last couple of weeks have changed things dramatically here, and as such we will be unable to use the van from now on.
We do need to move it on quickly and are prepared to take a financial hit due to the issues mentioned above.
