Anyone looking for a nice cheap entry into camper / surf van life?
A reliable manual 1998 lowered 1.9 TDi T4 camper conversion for just £2250!
8 years of ownership by us. Only for sale due to upgrading to a T5.
Mileage : 222,740(may increase)
MOT until 31st March ‘26 having passed first time this year.
This has been a great camper / daily runaround combo for us.
Runs well with the well recognised "bullet proof" 1.9TDi engine.
Bodywork and interior is in "fair" condition I'd say, but not perfect of course at this age & price. Just needs a little TLC in necessary places to be a bargain though.

Good points
Lots of improvements made in 23' & 24 including.....
- Cam belt replacement
- Completely new set of glow plugs & fuel filter so starts like a dream!
- New rubber hoses
- New Brake Pads
- New Bonnet Cable
- New Mid Section Silencer Box
- New windscreen
- Major welding all done
Not so good points
- Surface rust starting to appear in places (nothing major - see pics)
- Boot opening is "temperamental" - mechanism just needs some adjustment (worked fine when MOT'd)
- "Leisure" electrics could probably do with a minor "go through" although leisure battery is pretty new and charges fine from the engine.
- Seats a little worn but still comfy & nothing that new seat covers wouldn't fix.
