Description

The History of the Microscope library set of books was prepared to make the philosophical and technological heritage of microscopy easily accessible. The set consists of a collection of eight books – six rare reproduction editions of classic science literature and two recent works concerning the development of histotechnology and microscopy. The bound books are presented in an attractive slipcase.
The reproduction Volumes include:
1.) Micrographia by Robert Hooke, written in 1665.
2.) Pocket Microscopes by James Wilson, written in 1706 and Microscope Made Easy by Henry Baker, written in 1769.
3.) The Microscopic Cabinet by Andrew Pritchard, written in 1832.
4.) Practical Treatise on the Use of the Microscope by John Quekett, written in 1848.
5.) The Achromatic Microscope by Richard Beck, written in 1865.
6.) The Microtomist's Vade-Mecum by Arthur Bolles Lee, written in 1885.
7.) A History of Microtechnique (2nd Edition) by Brian Bracegirdle, written in 1978 and republished in 1987.
8.) 18th-Centruy Microscopes: A Synopsis of History and Workbook by James B. McCormick, written in 1987.
