Actually a Baker Seal 28 (made by Richard Baker, but he sold the company to Parker)

Currently moored on the Caledonian Canal at Seaport Marina, Inverness, Scotland.

We love our Seal 28, and she's been on several west coat and Caledonian Canal journeys, but we have now outgrown her as a family and have purchased a larger yacht. It will be a sad day to see her go. We're surprised this day has come! Has a big thick folder of history going back a long way.

This yacht is made strong, very tough fibreglass. 28ft long, 10ft beam. For a 28ft it is VERY spacious inside. The rear cabin can be made to have two beds but currently is rather too convenient for storage. Technically a 7 berth, and could be made to sleep 7, but realistically sleeps 3 in its current configuration.

Out of Water Survey conducted 30 March 2022.

Bukh DV20 (20hp) Diesel Engine. Has had head rebuilt and new filters but needs some attention. New shaft anode. It was running fine but after winter a exhaust valve stuck, hence the rebuilt head. I simply got bored of working on the Bukh and installed the Tohatsu which is pushing the boat long faster than the Bukh. I am still restoring the Bukh, time being the issue alone. I’m pretty sure it can be restored just fine.

Tohatsu 25hp 2-Stroke outboard (has brand new low friction Morse cables). Serviced 2024 with all new anodes (Cam marine, Skye). Has external fuel tank and throttle which is fitted in the cockpit. Is fitted to a heavy duty Waveline engine bracket which allows the engine to be lifted out of the water. We actually like this engine a lot and weren’t in the greatest hurry to fix the Bukh.

Fresh coat of deck paint underway in 2025.
Anti-foul done 2024.
Completely rewired in 2021.
Brand new sea toilet in 2025 (manual pump Seaflow).
Memory foam mattress in double cabin.
Caravan cushions on main seats.
New electric bilge pump with filter for canal. Manual one serviced, new diaphragm and rubber.
2 very good leisure batteries, 60w solar panel, solar converter and powerful inverter, were brand new in 2021.
Brand new black bimini top installed 2021.
We have the spray hood for restoration or use as a pattern, but we decided we preferred her without the spray hood.
Brand new main sail cover in 2025.
Interior insulation
Self contained diesel heater (new 2023) has it’s own diesel tank.
Dingy included be will need to be replaced or repaired.
Seacocks are in very good order, hull bolts are good.
Rigging is in very good order. Gib sail was renovated 2024 and had a fresh UV strip. Mainsail is very good. Spare halyards.
Spinnaker sail (we’ve not used it) and boom.
Raymarine GPS plotter/map with auto-helm (though we never used the auto-helm)
Two solar ventilation fans.
Beaching legs.
There is a rear cover/tent but it’s clearly a 3rd party one and not custom to the yacht.
Brand new domestic water pump.
Domestic water tank and diesel fuel tank are fairly new (I was told by the shipwright who installed them)

Was bought as a project boat and a lot of work was done. Now very liveable indeed.
