1989 BMW Z1 Roadster
Registration Number: F329 SUL
Chassis Number: WBABA91070AL00246
Recorded Mileage: 61,000 miles
Manufactured in April 1989, this early example was privately imported into the UK and registered with the DVLA in August of the same year. The Z1 was specified in Traum Schwartz (Dream Black) with a nicely complementing grey and camouflage-patterned Nubuck leather interior, and black convertible roof. Factory equipment includes electrically operated windows and doors, basic heating and ventilation controls, the original (and rare) Z1-branded radio/cassette player, and correct 16” inch alloy wheels. The car’s original spare wheel, toolkit, warning triangle, locking wheel nuts, and spare keys are also present.
Looking into the accompanying history folder, we find a comprehensive file of documentation, such as previous MoT receipts, previous invoices, a reprinted handbook and original Z1 press release. The Z1 has been serviced in the last year with timing belt and an oil service, and we understand drives very well with no known faults. Now showing a sensible 61,000 miles recorded, we understand the paintwork presents very nicely, whilst the interior shows light signs of use commensurate with its age and mileage. A stylish modern classic and a milestone in BMW’s history, this engaging early Z1 would make a distinctive addition to any considered collection.
