Description
Vintage 10 speed down tube geared 23 inch ( large, suitable for heights from around 5'7 - depending on leg length - to well over 6ft) Reynolds 531 steel frame Dawes tourer equipped with a useful rear rack, period gold coloured plastic mudguards( with a hole at the back of the rear, where the circular reflector would have been - see image), a slightly weathered - but not torn or ripped - Brook saddle and a mileage counter strapped to the front wheel axle (not sure how and if it works), in very good mechanical working condition having recently been refurbished and serviced. Factory paintwork - though mostly there is in part, mottled with surface rust, which to some may view with nostalgia as a such, in a generally presentable visual state.
Very lightweight, smooth, quiet, comfortable, fast, iconic and eye catching - despite it's blemishes (paint patina), a rather nice bike to ride.
