Description
An absolute classic road bike from the late 80s in perfect working condition. Totally original and regularly maintained and serviced throughout its life (last serviced in May 2025) - a reluctant sale but the bike is now ready to be enjoyed by a new owner.
Frame: Lightweight steel frame - coined as one of the first aero bikes from the 80s with aerodynamically shaped rear triangle and flattened tubes, that were precursors to modern triathlon bikes. Frame is in great condition for its age - no cracks, dents or defects. Paintwork is generally good with the odd scuff/scrape from use. Large frame (59cm) best suited to riders 5ft10+
Gears: Original Sachs Huret 12-speed (2x6) groupset - with original period frame-mounted shifters. Gear shifts are nice and crisp with smooth shifting across the gear range.
Brakes: Original Sachs Huret calliper brakes with new pads. Brakes are sharp front and back.
Rims & tyres: Original 700c alloy rims. Wheels are both true and fitted with new 'period-correct' road tyres.
A really lovely bike which i am very sad to be selling but have a few bikes and it's just time for this one to be enjoyed by someone else. Bike was valued by Balfe's Bikes, Fulham at c.£350-£400 (as these vintage lightweight quality French bikes are getting quite rare these days) but I need the space sooner rather than later hence low sales price.
Collection is from Earl's Court, London SW5 (2mins walk from the tube station). Happy to answer any questions as best I can.
