Description
1980s classic Holdsworth Avanti 501 Reynolds Bike size Large / old fashioned 24” frame would suit 5’11” upwards.
Period Dia-Compe brake levers (drilled) and callipers (upgrade substitutes by previous owner) and surprisingly effective.
Original GB bars and stem replaced by 3ttt stem and Cinelli 66/42 bars.
Mavic G 40 rims and large flange Shimano hubs finished with period Michelin Hi-Lite II 700 x 23c clincher tyres.
Period SR SP-150 pedals and Italian ALE chrome toe clips with black Christophe straps.
Vintage Suntour VX derailleurs and down-tube shifters, working well.
Stronglight Sport double chainset 48t / 38t (previous owner substituted original).
Shimano freewheel 13-24.
ITM 27.2mm seat pin and white Selle Italia Q-bik saddle.
Please see photos for frame condition and patina. The frame is affected by the usual scrapes, rubbing and ageing process for a 40+ year old bike.
This bike rides really well and has been cleaned and greased so it’s pretty smooth and comfy for its age.
