2002/2003 Orange P7 Series 8 Mountain Bike - Silver

Description

For sale is my classic, original and increasingly sought after, Orange P7 Series 8 Mountain Bike.

I have owned it from new when I bought it in 2002/3. It still has all the original components (see list below) and is in fantastic condition as can be seen from the photos.

It has covered very few miles, probably less than 500 and most of this on road or light trails. It’s been well maintained and I still have the original service instructions for the Shimano drive train, Avid brakes, Manitou front suspension and Ritchey headset.

Orange are a well-regarded name in mountain biking history and the P7 is recognised as a classic. This is a fantastic opportunity to own an original spec, well maintained, great condition example, perfect for trail riding, leisure rides, or even commuting. Rides brilliantly with excellent balance – stable and fun. I’m really sad to sell it but it's a sought-after bike and deserves a new home to someone who will get better use from it.

- Shimano Deore Mega Drivetrain: 9 Speed + Triple Crankset Configuration: Reliable and robust Shimano Deore components throughout – 9 speed rear cassette, triple crankset / front chainring, Rapidfire M9 shifters, front derailleur, rear derailleur, new Shimano chain. Still gives smooth, precise gear changes. Wide range of gears for climbing steep hills and fast flats.

- Manitou Six Elite Front Suspension Forks: 80mm-100mm travel. Adjustable fluid flow damping. In great condition, no leaks.

- Avid AD3 V-Brakes: Reliable Avid AD3 (Single Digit 3) V-brakes. Effective and easy-to-maintain stopping power. All in great condition including the pads.

- Answer Taperlite Handlebars: the original handlebars, I think they are probably a high strength aluminium alloy. Tapered with a slight back sweep. Original Orange ‘Friction Addiction’ grips – cool but showing signs of their age.

- Wilderness Trail Bikes (WTB) Rocket V Saddle: Ever popular & classic Rocket V saddle in great condition – stitching is coming apart very slightly in one small area (see photo) but hasn’t worsened and otherwise in amazing condition for it’s age. Comfortable on long rides.

- Wilderness Trail Bikes (WTB) Speed Master 23 11.3 Rims: Wheel size 26”. 23mm internal width, ideal for a variety of mountain bike tires. Designed with a dedicated braking surface for rim brakes / optimal performance with the Avid brakes.

- Quick Release Axles: Both wheels feature quick release axles for convenient, tool-free wheel removal and installation.
