Description

This is a machine made by the Wulfruna company of Coventry. It has a 24 inch frame and 28 inch wheels. The front mudguard is the short variety that were routinely fitted until around 1910 I believe. The rear rack is original. It is not totally original. When built it had no gears and a coaster rear brake. It was fitted in the dim and distant past with the first Sturmey Archer X Type, its first model (circa 1906) and a rear brake was added by the previous owner. I sourced and fitted an X Type changer. The rear hub has a step to assist mounting the bike. When I purchased it the gearing was so high that I had a larger rear sprocket fitted to make all the gears usable. A few years ago the seat tube cracked but it was expertly repaired by the legendary bicycle designer Mike Burrows and rides as well as ever. The fork crowns and front hub still sport good nickel plating. The bike is fitted with white Schwalbe Delta Cruiser tyres and it has a Brooks B90/3 saddle . This is a comfortable and stately ride and I have covered 45 miles with not problems. It is time for me to move it on to a new owner as advancing years are making it more difficult to mount and dismount. This sale is STRICTLY CASH ON COLLECTION ONLY. Please do not ask me to courier it or accept PayPal or bank transfer.
