Description

This lot will be auctioned via Historics Classic and Sportscar Auctioneers at The Pace of Autumn; Ascot Racecourse sale on Saturday 20th September. Introduced in 1993 to the public, the handsome new DB7 was Aston Martin's first six-cylinder model since production of the DB6 Mk. II had finished in 1971. Styled by Ian Callum, its lines were evocative of earlier Aston Martin models and elements of the DB4/5/6 could be seen in the design. Arguably one of the nicest looking cars ever produced by Aston Martin, the DB7 was well received and attracted new customers worldwide with its traditional layout of the curvaceous two-door coupe body and robust six-cylinder engine. Power was supplied by an all-alloy double overhead camshaft supercharged 24 valve inline six-cylinder engine which produced 335 bhp at 5750rpm. Regarded by many as the purist modern Aston Martin, the DB7 will undoubtedly be a collectable car for years to come and is equally at home in the city or out on the open road. In 1982, Aston Martin was granted a Royal Warrant of Appointment by the Prince of Wales, the company holds the warrant to this day. This very nice example of probably one of the prettiest Aston Martins ever made is presented in British Racing Green (recently repainted) with cream leather interior. Its ubiquitous 3.2 litre engine is mated to a four-speed automatic gearbox. The present owner has spent over £10,000 on servicing, suspension and brakes to name a few items over the last two years, which translates to a now very attractive purchase indeed for those hankering to enter the luxury sports car market with Aston Martin.
