Description
On offer a used electric (pedal) sewing machine. It is called Peony but looks like a Singer. It only stitches straight. I can’t date it; however, I know it was used loads in the 1960s.
-The machine works
-The light works
-The electric cable; one has been replaced. One is black rubber while the other is green with red lines. The inner wire thread is slightly exposed; it would be prudent to rewire it (see last photo).
-The wooden cover and stand show age and use. There are scratches, cracks, chips and the white might be paint. The felt on the lid is a vibrant green, obviously it has been historically, lovingly replaced.
-The small wooden lid for the accessory compartment has a cream knob, not sure this is original as the screw pokes out the other side. It is a very tight fit, something has swollen &/or shrunk.
-There are 2 original keys, they work, although it is tricky to see the keyhole.
-The only accessory is a bobbin and the thread.
Despite all the cosmetic damage/changes, it is a very decorative sewing machine. It’s very heavy, built to last.
