This is a Mauchline ware box, a type of Scottish souvenir wood ware.
Made in Mauchline, Ayrshire, popular with 19th-century tourists.
Produced from around 1810 to 1933. The box is made from sycamore wood.
Features a decal of 'Windermere from Lowwood'
Souvenirs were shipped globally.
Often used as trinket or jewelry boxes.
The decal on this box has been slightly damaged, so the price is lower. The wooden box itself is in extremely good condition.
