Brief Description:
This is a truly impeccably presented, original early Victorian Museum-Quality Ladies' Desktop Stationery Writing Box.
The extraordinary piece is embellished with exotic woods, including Burr Yew, Amboyna, Mother-of-Pearl and ebonised inlay and so much more!
With a working key, the beautifully inlaid lid opens to reveal a fully fitted interior, comprising an original tooled and embossed regency red writing skiver, a pair of glass inkwells, a stationery letter compartment, stamp trays and storage compartments.
There is a wonderful ''blank'' brass cartouche on the top of the lid, used to add a loved one's initials.
The piece has original brass hinges and the original lock with a working key.
Rare to find in such splendid original condition.
