Description
Rare pair of cast iron face masks depicting Robert Burns characters “Souter Johnnie and Tam O’ Shanter” Tam O' Shanter is approx 28cm high and 22cm wide.
Souter Johnnie is approx 25cm high by 30cm {across the hat) Both are in good condition and may or may not be the original paintwork. As stated these are very heavy at approx 6 kilos and have substantial fixing holes incorporated top and bottom. The masks were reputed to be made in Scotland by the Carronade Foundry in Falkirk around the first half of the Twentieth Century.
