Description
George IV sterling silver teapot by Simon Levy 1825
This exquisite large teapot is a true gem for antique collectors. Crafted by Simon Levy in Exeter in 1825, it boasts a stunning George IV style and is made of high-quality sterling silver. The fine detailing, such as the beautifully crafted handle, and the sleek design exude a timeless elegance that is hard to come by, making this teapot a must-have for any silver or antique enthusiast. English silverware is a testament to its sophistication and make it a great addition to any collection.
The teapot is of large size, measuring spout to handle included 10 inches / 25 cm, and being approx 7 inches / 19 cm at the widest point of the body.
Hallmarks rubbed on the body - makers mark readable and there is a subsequent hallmark on the underside of the lid. Overall good condition - well presented and good shape. Lid and hinge are good (a very slight wobble at the hinge). A few dents to the body and to the base around the rim (none have pierced through). Structurally sound. The spout finial has age-related wear. Approx 19.5oz
