Description
Antique First Edition PUNCH or the London CHARIVARI satirical magazine. Published for the week ending July 17th 1841. For the proprietors by R Bryant. Price Threepence excellent condition all page's remaining. Only minor tears and creases on page edges. The paper is very fragile and are not secured together as it came in the original publication. The paper has faded over the 184 years since it was published. To survive with all the pages and a few tears, creases and missing corners the condition can be assessed as good condition. A true antique piece that needs to be professionally looked after and preserved as the historical document that it is.
Also included in the sale price is a copy of the book PUNCH Then & Now a history of PUNCH how it started the changes by the editors, the artists and the front cover illustrations and the cartoonist and more is covered in the book.
Plus fragments of the paper that can be used in a restoration.
