Description
This is a beautiful authentic barge water-carrier from an Oxford Canal Boat. Often seen on top of narrowboats and are a traditional form of canal folk art, inspired by the 'Roses & Castles' Style. Historically, they were used by boatmen to carry fresh water on narrowboats. Made from a heavy galvanised metal and decorated by hand in the traditional style. It has some wonderful patina for its age and is a truly lovely item. All in tact and two holes at the base to attach it to a boat which is in keeping with the traditional 'Bargeware'. 29cm high excluding handle by 39cm wide. PLEASE SEE OTHER LISTINGS 😊
