Description

A Service Advisor acts as the main link between a customer and the service department, explaining vehicle maintenance and repair options, scheduling appointments, managing customer communication, and ensuring a positive customer experience. Key responsibilities include greeting customers, listening to their vehicle issues, relaying these to technicians, translating technical information into simple terms, providing cost estimates, authorizing additional work, and handling invoicing and payments.

Key Responsibilities


Technical Liaison:

Explain technical information from technicians in a way the customer can understand.




Scheduling & Coordination:

Book appointments, schedule workloads with the workshop, and coordinate with parts and other departments.




Service & Repair:

Recommend necessary services, obtain customer approval for additional work, and explain warranty details.




Administrative Tasks:

Create accurate invoices, process payments, maintain customer records, and enter data into computer systems.




Customer Satisfaction:

Follow up with customers to ensure they are satisfied with the services provided and resolve any complaints.




Customer Interaction:

Greet customers, listen to their concerns about their vehicles, and provide updates on service progress.



Key Skills


Communication Skills:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are crucial for explaining technical issues and maintaining customer relationships.




Customer Service Skills:

The ability to build trust, resolve issues, and provide a seamless customer experience is essential.




Technical Aptitude:

A sound understanding of vehicle mechanics and a familiarity with technical jargon are beneficial.
