Our local government clients are recruiting a Repairs Team Leader. To provide first-line management for a team of technical, permanent and fixed-term Maintenance Surveyors who deliver a full range of professional surveying services to maintain THH-owned properties, meet statutory and industry best practice, provide expert technical advice, offer support and guidance to more junior staff on building-related matters and enquiries, often of a complex or multifaceted nature. To act as an expert witness in cases of disrepair litigation. To contribute to continuous improvements and help THH residents by delivering an effortless service.

Your Key Responsibilities will include:

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate experience in performing and supervising a team of Maintenance Surveyors in delivering their role and supporting the overall goals of the repairs service.

Qualification – Essential

GCSE Grade (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics.

Must have a minimum qualification of Building HNC or a recognised equivalent building qualification.

Advanced user –Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, Social Media:

Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience Requirements - Criteria to be Evaluated at the Shortlisting Stage.

To thrive in this role, you will need:

Must have extensive technical knowledge within the area of building construction and maintenance, and be able to use bespoke systems to record works.

Must have extensive experience in managing technical staff within a fast-paced team, ideally in a hectic repairs department within a local authority (social housing) setting.

Must have experience in managing staff/teams in a repair environment and provide examples of the same.

Must have extensive experience in problem-solving, diagnosis skills, good communication skills and the ability to speak and work with different audiences.

Must seek opportunities to build positive relationships with people from other teams and other stakeholders/partners.

Shares information and engages others in a timely way to achieve the best outcomes.
