Graduate Building Surveyor Job in Durham

A great opportunity for a Graduate Building Surveyor to join a well-established practice of 45+ years. You'll gain valuable experience across heritage, healthcare, residential, and education projects while working towards chartership and developing your professional career.

This company was established over 45 years ago, with a large portion of its work coming through from repeat business. This role will work alongside the architecture and interior design teams from concept to project completion.

Role & Responsibilities

Assisting senior surveyors with building condition surveys, inspections, and technical reports

Supporting project delivery, including contract administration and project management tasks

Attending site visits, client meetings, and liaising with contractors and consultants

Conducting research and providing technical input on building pathology and refurbishment projects

Developing knowledge of listed and historic buildings, with training provided where needed.

Required Skills & Experience

A BSc (Hons) degree in Building Surveying (or equivalent)

A genuine interest in progressing towards MRICS chartership (full APC support provided)

Previous placement or 1-2 years' work experience in Building Surveying is desirable

Excellent communication and report writing skills

Enthusiasm to learn, ability to work within a team, and confidence to take initiative.

Salary up to £25,000 - £32,000 (depending on experience)
