Description

The DMS Manager reports directly to the G4S Security Operational Lead and

Site Operations Road Freight Lead and is responsible for the direction and

leadership of all activities associated with the full life cycle delivery of the

programme of work assigned to them.

The nature of the role is to provide leadership to ensure the effective delivery

of freight and management of the Delivery Management System (DMS) and

its associated requirements to SZC in compliance with Development

Consent Order (DCO).

While recognising and managing the impacts on the wider Project.

The DMS Manager will be responsible for managing the DMS Coordinators

to ensure the effective delivery of the DMS processes.

Where required the DMS Manager will be responsible for the development, amendment and

implementation of work procedures.

Your Time at Work

£22.32 per hour

40 hours per week, working normal office hours but will require some flexibility and possible Saturday working.

Our Perfect Worker

Employed by G4S, this position will report to the G4S Security Operations Lead and directly to our

client within the Sizewell C Site Operations Delivery Team for daily operations. The role will provide

supervision and management to the DMS team and effective delivery of the DMS operation across

all Sizewell C sites.

Including:

- To manage the DMS team to support the movement of road freight to site.

- To collaborate as one robust operation centre with the involvement of other stakeholders

such as Bussing, Security, Postal and Training etc

- Implement, monitor and control standards at the freight centres initiating collaboration with

all stakeholders to include Safety, Environmental and Operating standards,

- Undertake a Duty Management role in the event of a road incident that requires SZC to

enact its emergency procedures and the traffic incident management plan.

- Disseminate relevant project updates, briefings and traffic information to the DMS team.

- Maintain accurate information in the system for the DMS evaluation and responsible for all

DMS reporting requirements.

- To achieve all conditions set out by various stakeholders internally and externally.

- Establishing the vehicle safety standards for all freight vehicles at the SZC project and

monitoring of these standards.

- Provide an escalation route to the DMS operators to manage relationships with haulier

drivers, DMS users, particularly construction contractors - Handling any issues and queries

and collecting feedback from all parties.

- Supervise and support the movement of Abnormal Indivisible Loads to SZC

- Understanding of the project delivery vehicle timing restrictions, routing, tracking and

vehicle compliance, ensuring the parameters are adhered within the Development Consent

Order (DCO) and accurate reporting of such.

- Develop and maintain lines of communication with contractor Delivery Coordinators and

teams to ensure clear communication.

- Resolve any day-to-day DMS operator administration issues that may arise

- Proactively manage DMS to prevent breaches to DCO conditions

- Ongoing development of the Delivery Management System and associated reporting

platforms.

Skills and Competencies

- A logistics background is required;

- They will have previous experience of line management and supervision;

- Experience of working in a highly regulated environment to satisfy a range of complex

project requirements is essential;

- They will have exceptional people skills and the ability to present ideas;

- A good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook is required;

Specific Occupational Requirements

- Ability to pass and hold National Security Clearance Vetting

- UK Driving License is essential
