Part-Time Tax Accountant

My client is looking for a skilled Tax Accountant to join our team on a part-time basis, playing a key role in ensuring accurate VAT compliance and supporting the wider business on a range of tax matters.

In this role, you'll help strengthen financial controls, identify opportunities to improve processes, and provide practical tax support to internal stakeholders. It's a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, collaboration, and making an impact within a dynamic finance environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare accurate and timely VAT and GST returns for a portfolio of UK entities.

Maintain and reconcile tax balance sheet accounts, ensuring robust internal controls.

Conduct monthly tax control checks and assist with audit requirements.

Provide clear, practical tax advice to teams across the organisation.

Identify and implement process improvements in tax compliance and reporting.

Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the business.

Collaborate with finance and IT teams to maintain system accuracy for VAT reporting.

What We're Looking For:

Strong knowledge of UK VAT legislation and accounting principles.

Proven experience in preparing tax returns and managing compliance processes.

Proficiency in SAP and Excel, with confidence handling large data sets.

Excellent attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
