We’re growing, and are looking for a Senior Third Party Claims Handler to join our Claims team in Newcastle on a hybrid basis.

We’re looking for dynamic, driven professionals like you to help evolve our business in new directions. You’ll need first-class leadership credentials to bring our people with you on this journey and take us to the next level.

In this role, you’ll be required to handle your own allocation of third-party claims in line with agreed authority levels, handling guidelines and procedures, Claims strategy, and culture. Ensure claims are settled quickly and cost-effectively.

Act as a technical referral point for claims handlers and support the development of the claims team by being an effective coach and role model.

Responsibilities:

* Act as an escalation point, providing technical guidance on complex third-party claims, including hire, personal injury, and property damage cases.

* Maintain your own caseload to a high standard, ensuring all actions are documented correctly, and the claims system is kept up to date.

* Liaise and negotiate with all relevant parties to progress and settle claims quickly and effectively within your authority level.

* Ensure your files are accurately reserved in line with the company reserving philosophy.

* Raise settlement cheques promptly and accurately.

* Provide a high level of service to customers, third parties and suppliers.

* Support development and delivery of the claims strategy and vision. vision.

* Undertake quality audits on claim files and provide feedback to handlers.

* Handle and log complaints in line with FSA and company requirements and guidelines.

Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications:

* Extensive experience in motor claims handling, with strong technical knowledge across third-party liability, hire, personal injury, and property damage.

* Proven background in a senior claims role with responsibility for managing people and performance.

* Experience of developing and delivering claims processes and strategies.

* Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, motivate, and inspire a team.

* Demonstrable experience of working with suppliers and managing SLAs.

* Knowledge of FCA regulatory regime, FOS ethos, and TCF principles.

* Experience in project planning and managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
