Contract / Software Engineer / Java / Angular / 12 Months / Inside IR35 / £550 per day / Financial Services

We’re seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to lead the design and development of complex software systems and applications for a major client project. This role requires strong technical leadership, hands-on coding expertise, and the ability to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performance solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Lead architecture, design, and development of enterprise-grade applications.

Build and optimise REST APIs (Spring Boot) and Angular-based UIs.

Ensure performance, scalability, and security across systems.

Conduct code reviews, debugging, and performance tuning.

Collaborate with stakeholders to align roadmap and technical strategy.

Integrate with partner systems and manage infrastructure dependencies.

Core Skills (Essential)

5+ years in Java & Angular development.

Strong hands-on experience with REST APIs (Spring Boot).

Deep understanding of data structures and problem-solving.

Relational databases (MySQL / DB2).

Automated testing (JUnit, Mockito).

CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Docker) & version control (Git/GitHub).

Proven experience with scalability and performance optimisation.
