A charity near Yeovil are seeking a reliable and detail-focused Purchase Ledger Assistant to join their finance team and support the smooth running of its financial operations.

Your new role

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for the accurate processing of supplier invoices and payments, ensuring strong financial controls and supporting the wider finance function. This is a key role in helping the charity manage its resources effectively and responsibly. Duties will include:

Process supplier invoices accurately and in a timely mannerMaintain and reconcile the purchase ledgerPrepare and process supplier payments in line with approval proceduresManage supplier queries professionally and efficientlyReconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepanciesAssist with month-end processes and reportingMaintain accurate financial records in line with charity governance requirementsSupport audits and provide information as requiredWork closely with internal teams to ensure purchasing procedures are followed

What you'll need to succeed

Previous experience in a purchase ledger or accounts payable roleStrong attention to detail and organisational skillsAbility to manage deadlines in a busy environmentConfident communicator with a professional and friendly approachGood working knowledge of Excel and finance systemsUnderstanding of the charity or not-for-profit sector is desirable, but not essentialA commitment to the values and mission of the charityWhat you'll get in return
