Overview

An established, multi site organisation is seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator to support business as usual payroll operations. This role sits within a well structured finance and payroll function and focuses on the accurate and timely processing of payroll for a large employee population.The position is suitable for candidates with solid payroll experience who are comfortable working to deadlines within a fast paced, process driven environment.

Key responsibilities

End to end processing of weekly and or monthly payrollsAccurate input and maintenance of payroll data, including new starters, leavers and changes to employee recordsProcessing statutory payments including SSP, SMP, SPP and student loan deductionsManaging payroll queries from employees and stakeholders, providing timely and clear responsesEnsuring compliance with HMRC regulations and internal policiesSupporting pension uploads, auto enrolment processes and reconciliationsLiaising with HR and Finance to ensure payroll data is complete and accurateAssisting with payroll reporting and audit queries as required

Skills and experience required

Proven experience in a payroll focused role, ideally within a medium to large organisationStrong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and statutory requirementsHigh attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressureConfident using payroll systems and ExcelStrong communication skills and a professional approach to handling confidential informationDesirable

Exposure to multi site or high volume payroll environmentsExperience working as part of a shared service or centralised payroll function
