Financial Accountant

Description

An established technology business based in Waterbeach is looking to appoint a Financial Accountant to join its Finance team. This is a broad financial accounting role, working closely with the Finance Manager and colleagues across the wider business to deliver accurate financial information and support key reporting requirements.

Your duties will include:

Managing stock accounting, inventory reporting and stock turnover analysis, including supporting stock count verification. Maintaining the R&D and fixed asset registers, including capitalisation, amortisation and appropriate accounting treatment. Preparing monthly accruals and prepayments, journals, balance sheet reconciliations and revenue and gross margin analysis. Supporting the preparation of UK statutory accounts, audit requirements and tax computations, while liaising with overseas accountants and external advisors. Supporting R&D accounting activities, alongside other financial reporting and improvement projects. The ideal candidate will have:

A recognised accountancy qualification, such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA. Experience working to tight financial reporting deadlines, with strong attention to detail and a questioning approach to financial information. A collaborative approach, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues across Finance and other departments. A proactive and solutions-focused mindset, with a genuine interest in developing their accounting knowledge and contributing to continuous improvement.
