We're working with a unique, privately owned business near Henley-on-Thames, offering a varied mix of commercial activity within beautiful surroundings and a genuinely lovely, close-knit team. This is a broad, hands-on Finance Manager role where you'll work closely with the General Manager, supporting the day-to-day running of the finance function whilst helping bring more clarity, structure and insight to the numbers.

This Finance Manager role is ideal for someone who enjoys ownership, variety and being part of the wider business. Whilst the finance function is lean, the business itself is varied and operationally busy, with multiple revenue streams and lots of moving parts. It's a role for someone who enjoys understanding how a business works, improving processes and making the numbers more meaningful.

The role

This is a broad, all-round Finance Manager position where you'll be involved in both the operational side of finance and improving how the business uses financial information.

Responsibilities will include:

Overseeing the day-to-day finance function across multiple income streamsManaging month-end processes and maintaining accurate financial recordsProducing management information and supporting reportingSupporting cashflow visibility and helping bring clearer insight to business performanceManaging payroll, VAT, reconciliations and core finance processesIdentifying opportunities to improve processes and streamline systems within a Xero-based environment that currently includes some manual workaroundsActing as a trusted support to the General Manager and wider operational teamSupporting reporting, analysis and helping make financial information more useful for decision makingThere is genuine scope in this Finance Manager role to add value, particularly around reporting, visibility and improving the way financial information supports the wider business.

You may be:

QBE, AAT, part-qualified or qualifiedAn experienced Finance Manager or senior finance professional from an SME environmentComfortable managing broad day-to-day finance responsibilities and month-end reportingConfident using Xero and ExcelSomeone who enjoys improving processes and making things work betterComfortable communicating with non-finance stakeholdersHappy to roll up their sleeves and support a small, collaborative teamThe working pattern
