Job Title: First Line Field Engineer - Windows 11 Upgrade
Location: Exeter, Plymouth, or Dartmouth (field-based)
Clearance Requirement: NPPV3 (must be in place before starting)
Contract Type: Contract 4 Months
About the Role:
We are looking for a First Line Field Engineer to support a large-scale Windows 11 upgrade project across sites in Exeter, Plymouth, and Dartmouth. The role involves travelling to client locations, providing hands-on support, and ensuring a smooth transition for end users.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform on-site Windows 11 upgrades on desktops and laptops.
Provide first-line technical support to end users during and after upgrades.
Diagnose and resolve hardware/software issues, escalating where necessary.
Install and configure applications, ensuring compatibility with Windows 11.
Maintain accurate records of issues, resolutions, and upgrade progress.
Adhere to security, compliance, and organisational IT standards.
Skills & Experience Required:
Proven IT support or field engineering experience.
Strong knowledge of Windows 10 and Windows 11 operating systems.
Experience with troubleshooting hardware/software and basic networking.
Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently across multiple sites.
Valid NPPV3 security clearance (mandatory).
Full UK driving licence with willingness to travel across Exeter, Plymouth, and Dartmouth.
Desirable:
Experience with OS deployments and upgrade projects.
Familiarity with Active Directory, Group Policy, and Endpoint Manager (Intune).
Relevant IT certifications (CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified, etc.).
