Description
Assistant Accountant / Team Lead
Location: Lancaster (flexi-time & hybrid working)
Salary: £30,000 – £40,000 DOE + Study Support
Are you an ambitious Assistant Accountant ready to take the next step into leadership? This role offers the chance to manage a small team while still keeping hands-on with accounts, tax, and client service.
What you’ll be doing:

Managing and motivating a team of accountants.
*
Preparing self-assessment tax returns, annual accounts & corporation tax.
*
Providing tax advice to a varied portfolio of clients.
*
Liaising with HMRC to resolve queries.
*
Ensuring KPIs are met across VAT, payroll, and reconciliations.
*
Building strong client relationships and driving service quality.
What we’re looking for:
*
AAT, ACA, ACCA studier (or equivalent experience).
*
Solid background in tax returns, year-end accounts & corporation tax.
*
Strong communicator with excellent organisational skills.
*
Client-focused, detail-driven, and ambitious.
*
Previous experience leading or supporting a team (desirable).
