Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in financial management and accounting practices, with proficiency in various accounting software. This role is crucial for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing insightful financial analysis to support decision-making.

Duties

Prepare and maintain financial statements, reports, and forecasts to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.
Conduct regular reconciliations of bank statements and general ledger accounts.
Utilise accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or TaxCalc to streamline financial operations.
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior staff members in financial practices and software usage.
Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial plans, monitoring variances against actual performance.
Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights that support strategic planning.
Stay updated on changes in financial regulations and best practices to ensure compliance.
Preparation of VAT returns and confirmation statement submission. CIS would also be beneficial

Skills

Proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, and TaxCalc.
Strong understanding of financial services and principles of financial management.
Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail for accurate reporting.
Ability to mentor and train junior staff effectively in accounting practices.
Knowledge of financial accounting standards and regulations.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
