Description

We are recruiting for a key role at a well-established, independent firm of accountants in Grimsby. The firm are looking for an Accountant with experience in preparing year-end accounts and a working knowledge of payroll.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.

Reconcile bank statements, ledgers, and other financial documents.

Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.

Prepare and submit VAT returns and ensure compliance with HMRC regulations.

Assist in preparing financial statements, including balance sheets, profit & loss accounts, and trial balances.

Support in the preparation of year-end accounts for individuals, partnerships, and limited companies.

Assist in the preparation of tax returns for individuals and small businesses.

Liaise directly with clients to gather necessary financial information and ensure accurate data for tax filings.

Process payroll accurately and on time, including salaries, benefits, and statutory deductions.

Prepare and submit PAYE, National Insurance, and pension contributions.

Maintain payroll records and respond to employee payroll queries.
